On light and dark, large and small

Light ground — the brand's own light cut.
Dark ground — the brand's own dark cut.

Small sizes

The arms are 1.24:1 apart in luminance. The silhouette holds at favicon size.

The idea

A financial services brand. One glyph: a V inside a continuous-curvature square, wordmark cut tight against it.

Horizontally the V is centred to five thousandths of a unit. Vertically it sits 3.41 low — an optical correction for a top-heavy shape.

Geometry and measurements

Constructionas drawn · measured

As drawn

The shipped glyph, untouched.

Measured

Every line is plotted in the mark's own units, over a dimmed copy of the shipped paths.

What the file says12 properties

Container

158.76 × 160.00

0.78% narrower than tall. A chain of cubics, not a rectangle with a corner radius.

Horizontal centring

Δ 0.005

Glyph centre 79.385 against a container centre of 79.38.

Vertical placement

−3.41 · 2.13%

Set below the mathematical centre so a top-heavy shape stops floating. Confirmed intentional.

Tone break

12.83°

Runs (79.28, 85.57) → (106.00, 91.66). It is what turns a flat V into a fold.

Arm terminals

Δ 0.08

Both cut flat and horizontal, flush to within eight hundredths of a unit.

Vertex

rounded

The one soft join in a glyph whose every other terminal is a hard cut.

x-height / cap

71.7%

59.78 against 83.36 — high, which is what keeps the wordmark legible small.

t ascender

88.6% of cap

Stops deliberately short of the cap line rather than matching it.

V → e kern

−7.43

The bounding boxes overlap: the e tucks under the V's right arm.

r → a kern

−1.63

The second overlap in a seven-letter word. The fit is cut, not defaulted.

o overshoot

+1.58

The round drops below the flat letters' baseline, as a round should.

Icon → wordmark

37.23 · 23.3%

Measured against the mark's own height. That ratio is the clearspace rule.

Contrastfour ratios

WCAG relative luminance on the fills in the file. The 4.5:1 bar is applied only where it applies — a graphic element is not text. Cards that say “on dark” are measured on near-black, #08070a.

#09A165

6.03:1

Brand green on dark

Clears AA on near-black, so the green can carry text there and not only fills. On white it is 3.33:1.

#1E262C

15.34:1

Wordmark ink on white

The light lockup. Not pure black — a blue-cast near-black.

#FFFFFF

3.33:1

White arm on green

A graphic element, so the 4.5:1 text bar does not apply to it.

#D7ECE1

2.70:1

Tinted arm on green

Only 1.24:1 from the white arm, so it reads as a fold and not a second shape.

Measurements

Measured off the vector

  • Every figure on this page comes from the shipped vector.

Re-parse the SVG and solve each cubic for its extrema.

  • The scale ladder is one geometry at five sizes, not five exports.

View source — every size references the same <symbol>.

  • The vertical drop is a deliberate optical correction.

Confirmed by the designer; the measurement itself is on this page.

  • Only the wordmark changes between the light and dark lockups.

Seven of ten paths differ across the two supplied files; the three icon paths are identical.

Measured from the supplied SVG by solving each cubic for its extrema.
